Story Squad storytellers Becca Daughtry and Brian Sturm went to the Gov. James G. Martin Building in Raleigh for the first ever Carolina Stories reading festival, sponsored by Woven Lore Publishing. The festival showcased many North Carolina authors for adults and children. Story Squad entertained the gathering with folktales from around the world, and spoken word artist Dasan Ahanu shared an evocative performance of his poetry and discussed how Southern rhythms pervade his work. The event lasted from 11am to 4pm and included food trucks and popsicles. The weather cooperated, and everyone had a marvelous time!
